These two are one of the most remarkable teams I know. It was such an honor to not only document the most important day of their lives, but stand by my friend’s side of eight years as her bridesmaid as she exchanged vows and tied the knot with her soulmate. This entire weekend getaway to Eastsound, WA on Orcas Island was nothing short of magic!
Odd Fellows Hall has grown to be one of my favorite Orcas Island wedding venues to shoot at. It’s one of the few where you can take the entire weekend to decorate, celebrate, and tear down. Here Comes The Guide did a really good write up on it.
Thanks to Jed Sarmiento, who took over photographing the ceremony and bridesmaid pictures so that I could also be a part of Audrey and Ryan’s breathtaking ceremony.

STRANGER BOB
Okay, story time. This is probably one of my most favorite (not to mention inexplicable) things that has ever happened at a wedding. Just before we started taking bride and groom photos, this car comes bombing down the road, pulls over into the cul de sac, and a guy gets out with his little digicam. He RUNS over and starts snapping away, and tells us “I’ve traveled 9,000 miles from Norway for this photo! Thank you thank you thank you!” He was so gracious and looked like he’d been waiting for this moment all his life. Then without any backstory at all, promptly gets back into the car and drives off. We had just been about to walk into the woods, but he somehow happened to catch us right at that very moment. I will always wonder…
THE VENUE – ODD FELLOWS HALL
One of the greatest things about Audrey and Ryan’s wedding is they, their friends and family created and collected everything themselves. The vast majority of the decor from antlers and skulls to candle sticks and vintage metals were found and thrifted objects, and placed neatly on the tables by friends and family. Cakes, snacks, photography, calligraphy and cocktails were all contributed to by bridal party members. Together we turned the Eastsound Odd Fellows Hall into a summer wedding wonderland!
