Grace and I went to high school together and although we never truly crossed paths in our teeny bopper days, I must say I am honored to have crossed paths with her and her love, Sean this year. These two are such beautiful, vibrant and adventurous souls and within minutes of their engagement session back in May, I could already see how crazy they are about one another. They’re the kind of lovebirds that just give you the warm and fuzzies as you go through their photos. Needless to say, I had been looking forward to photographing their whimsical Dairyland wedding all summer long!
This was just one of those days where literally every inch, every detail and every moment was exactly them. From all the whimsical, colorful decoration to Grace running down the halls like an airplane and some of the quirkiest lookin’ cakes I’ve ever seen, there’s no better way anyone could have encompassed Grace and Sean’s big, unique personalities into one single day.
Special thanks to Prudence and Sage for being an awesome wedding planner.
Trying to photograph the ladies, and meanwhile I can’t turn around for two seconds without these goofballs trying to climb some rickety old wooden structures or plot some elaborate, acrobatic photo bomb. And actually, I wouldn’t have had it any other way. But when you tell these guys to go GQ magazine, they absolutely kill it.
While walking out toward the corn fields for a little golden hour bride and groom portrait action, this absolutely filthy donkey just comes RUNNING up to us in excitement looking for pets. He was covered in dirt and was just majestically shaking it off into the sun rays, but he was by far the most awesome donkey I’ve ever met.
Later the owner of Dairyland told me his name was D’arby, and that he was the “seeing eye donkey” for their one-eyed horse. Supposedly he guides him around the pasture and makes sure he doesn’t run into things. We should all be more like D’arby.
