Of all the days Cristina and Alan could have chosen for their engagement, they happened to land on the one sunny Saturday. It’s been storming off and on here in Seattle lately and peak season for autumn leaves only lasts around three weeks here. So yep, I’d say they definitely scored on the perfect day for a Washington Park Arboretum engagement session.
So naturally, we just had to do all the cliche fall things like throw leaves at one another, sit in a nice patch of good lookin’ dirt and moss, snuggle up in a cozy blanket and pretend to laugh like crazy people until they laughed for real… You know, things everyone does in fall when they’re in love! And as if things couldn’t get better, they brought their adorable pup Heidi along. These two.. no wait, three, were such a joy to spend an afternoon with, and words cannot describe how excited I am to shoot their wedding in the woods in Preston, WA this summer!
I love that this session really gives you a sense of place for what it felt like to be with us at the Arboretum that day. Autumn is by far my favorite time of year to shoot portrait and lifestyle sessions because of its rich, beautiful warm tones. It just comes and goes too quickly, and I wish the fall colors would stick around a little longer.
