Elena and Aden's elegant Canlis Wedding felt like walking into a dinner party in the 1960s. Some of my favorite types of weddings involve an incredible cocktail party and dining experience, and shooting at the iconic Canlis is the dream. It reminds me a lot weddings at The Corson Building.

The Canlis brand itself is about as whimsical as it is sophisticated. On one hand, it is truly unlike any other dining experience unlike any other in Washington. Then you learn that they painted half their building pink a week before Elena and Aden's wedding so they could host a Barbie themed charity event - which I attended, by the way. It was awesome.

Elena and Aden selected The Penthouse for their wedding celebration. Once the residence of Peter Canlis, this space has been a favorite for corporate and family gatherings for decades. Its 85 feet of floor-to-ceiling windows showcase breathtaking views of Lake Union and the Cascade Mountains. Canlis Wedding Costs and Booking Details

Given the exclusivity and demand for a wedding at Canlis, reservations open six months in advance, with early access available to subscribers through the Canlis newsletter. While prices vary based on the day and season, a standard package includes a flat rental rate of around $350-$750, along with a food and beverage minimum ranging from $3,500 to $6,000. For a full-day wedding with 80 guests, including the ceremony and dinner, couples can expect a total cost of around $30,000.
