Alexandra + Jack’s Dairyland Wedding

Dairyland weddings are some of my favorites, as the venue focuses on “preservation” rather than “restoration”.  Alexandra and Jack had a special day that was filled with so much joy and so many beautiful, tear-jerking moments in between. I always love working with couples who have an eye for photography themselves and are eager to experiment with me. Even if it means laying in the garden with a drone hovering above their heads. I don’t think I have ever captured so much personality in a wedding day before!

Alexandra and Jack have known one another since middle school, and became close friends by the time they were 19 years old. People came from all over the world (China, California, Texas, Arizona…) to celebrate with them for the weekend and help bring their vision for the perfect wedding to life. She took him on his first ever hike at 9 miles and 2500 ft gain and she didn’t even tell her until they reached the top. I kind of totally loved that story considering 12 miles at 2500 ft gain totally kicked my ass this summer and it was definitely obvious – so power to you, Jack. You’re the man!

Some solid wedding day advice as told by Alexandra:

“Remember not to sweat the small stuff. The day of our weddings one of our favorite wedding signs broke. My sister in law Megan had handmade it. She was so worried we’d be disappointed! She quickly remade the sign and it looked awesome! Most of the time your guests don’t know what’s gone wrong unless you say so. Go with the flow and enjoy your day! Oh and research your vendors so you know you can trust them. We had stellar folks come out and I trusted them completely. We kept hearing how good the pizza was and how much fun the photo booth was! That was all because of our awesome vendors!”
