Donna + Matt’s Lincoln Park Engagement
When I first met Donna and Matt, we connected on a level like no other. Our initial wedding photography consultation felt a lot more like having beers with old friends than business, and it’s been so great getting to know them more. These two claim they had an alright first date playing proper at a restaurant. But when they met up for the second time in a place that felt more like home to both of them (a dive bar!), that’s when they really hit it off. Hence why the second half of their session takes place at Vito’s on First Hill. I think I can see why get along so well!
Loving Matt meant loving his companion Maurice the french bulldog. And while Donna was not always the biggest fan of dogs in the beginning, she came to love little Mo as her own. I always encourage clients to bring their fur children along to shoots, and needless to say I was very excited I was going to meet theirs! On the day their shoot, I was informed Maurice was not in good health and to get as many photos of him as we could. Not hard for Maurice! He was such a little trooper, got plenty of treats, and rocked that sweater like a champ!
Sadly, I was told Maurice passed away on November 19th, 2016. Rest in the stars, little one. May you stunt that sweater and eat unlimited treats in the doggie afterlife. All dogs go to heaven.
