Aree and Sean came all the way from Corvallis, OR for their Seymour Botanical Conservatory engagement shoot. How flattering is that!? Aree has history working with greenhouses and is a certified plant mom - just like me!
Photoshoots in a Seattle area greenhouse
It's always summer time in a greenhouse, which is why they make for fantastic wedding and engagement locations during the colder, rainier months. Another popular greenhouse is the Volunteer Park Conservatory, which is a hot destination for micro weddings as well (and one I have been to countless times). However, it requires reservations to use, so we opted to have their photo session at Seymour Botanical Conservatory in Tacoma, WA instead.
If you're looking for a greenhouse backdrop for a photo shoot without having to break the bank, this is the spot. The other reason we love Seymour Botanical Conservatory for photo shoots is because we can use it early in the day. Volunteer Park's greenhouse only lets you in for photo shoots after it closes to the public at 4PM. And that's even with the reservation!
And like Volunteer Park, the Seymour Botanical Conservatory also resides in a beautiful green space called "Wright Park." This park boasts some stunning golden leaves during fall, which had me excitedly entertaining how I could incorporate a drone photo.
I don't share engagement shoots too often on the blog, but I just absolutely loved working with Aree and Sean and thought their photos turned out amazing. Especially the drone photo!
Hi, I'm Jacquelyn! I'm a Washington wedding photographer and AIARE 1 certified backcountry skier. I ski once a month year round (yes, there IS snow up there!) and always encourage people to adventure on their wedding day. Not only are the pictures epic, but the memories are even better. If you think you'd like to go on a guided snowshoe adventure or ski tour for your elopement or couple's session, shawty I can take you there, photograph you, and officiate!
